  • I live close to a restaurant Floyd was involved in, O’Pedro, where I’ve always enjoyed going. The news of his passing had an unexpected affect on me despite having never met the man. I continue to order from his restaurants, helped make me and my mom’s time in the pandemic a little less depressing. I wish his family the best and suggest people to check out his work and order from his restaurants. RIP Floyd.

  • This is interesting. Hats off to you for reaching out to Floyd's family and wanting to know their wishes. Using her husband's death to promote her merchandise seems very classless of his wife, on the other hand. Regardless, it does give me a baseline for Indian cuisine, which has long been a mystery to me.

There is no constant to anything...yet everything tastes like home...i always want you to try indian food...you will definitely love our cuisine.

  • One thing Ive noticed over they years is the difference in how western and eastern chefs (and recipe books) treats the measurements of ingredients. Western chefs are all about precision; all ingredients are measured, or at least given the rough estimate of its supposed amount. Eastern chefs are all about feeling your way to the correct amount; just do things that you think is best. Not saying one is better than the other. Its just an observation I made that I think is interesting.

  • Lol Just like Babish said westerns think Indian food is locked into the same set of spices which are used in almost every dish and there is not much variety. But it’s ironic cuz Indian food is the exact opposite. Compared to western or other Asian food, Indian food has so much more flavors and variety and uses spices and ingredients that cant even be found in other countries. Thats why Indian food sort of “ unlocks “some of ur taste buds that u didnt even know existed

  • I'm always curious about the ingredient for indian recipes called "chili powder." Because I've seen it in indian grocery stores and its just "red chili powder"...but there are SO many different types of red chilis with different heat...from kashmiri to cayenne to the chili powder you find in American supermarkets which is not spicy at all and used in chili. What powder am I looking for when I buy "red chili powder" for most indian dishes?

However, somehow his death has encapsulated the tragedy of this past year for me. In an effort to lighten the mood (mine at least), here’s a snarky faux question: If I’m out of delicious backstory, can I just stick with the fennel and ginger?
